* Suggested resources for students to bring – good quality watercolour paper, either hot-pressed or NOT (but not rough) preferably 250gsm upwards, to allow for wet work that day, round brushes numbers 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1, palette and old round brush for mixing, water jar and some kitchen roll, HB pencil or blue colour pencil and eraser for underdrawing.

Meet at 10.15am for complimentary coffee and cake. The workshop commences at 10.30am with a light lunch at 1pm. If required we will take an additional coffee break. Once booked we will contact you closer the time to check your food requirements.

Sally is not just a wildlife artist but has been actively ‘rewilding’ in the garden for the last five years. Although she has always gardened without the ‘help’ of chemicals, the ‘rewilding’ has resulted in at least ten species of bumblebee in residence, including a rare fully black bumblebee. Lots more bird species, butterfly and dragonfly species, as well as toads and wildflowers are now living in her garden.

Having taught for many years in adult education, Sally’s workshops are a blend of artistic techniques and environmental activities. Her aim is to give participants a ‘birds’-eye’ view of the wonderful bumblebee through their art and they will be able to learn about the techniques and materials featured in each workshop to create their own bumblebee portrait.
